NuEnergy Infrastructure (NEI) is thrilled to announce our collaboration with Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners on their groundbreaking Supernode Battery Storage Project in Queensland. This project marks a significant milestone in Australia’s energy transition, and we are proud to be the Design and Construction (D&C) partner for Stages 1 and 2.
Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, a specialist global investment manager focused exclusively on the infrastructure needed for the energy transition, has successfully closed a AUD $722 million debt financing for the first two stages of the Supernode project. This financing represents Australia’s largest stand-alone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project to date, highlighting the project’s importance and scale.
The Supernode project is strategically located adjacent to the central node of the electricity network in Queensland, making it one of the largest BESS projects under construction in Australia. With a combined nameplate capacity of 520 MW / 1856 MWhs for Stages 1 and 2, and an additional Stage 3 planned to bring the total capacity to 760 MW / 3096 MWhs, the Supernode project is set to become one of the largest BESS projects globally.
“At NuEnergy, we are excited to support Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners as their D&C partner, delivering Stages 1 and 2 of this landmark project. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the successful implementation of the Supernode project, contributing to a sustainable and reliable energy future for Australia,”
Kerry Craven, Director of NuEnergy Infrastructure.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as we work towards “creating a brighter, sustainable world for generations through innovative energy solutions.”
